"Dr." Rudolf?

Another point of similarity between evolution deniers and Holocaust deniers, though maybe not as strong as the others, is the use of fraudulent credentials.

Though it seems that this phenomenon is not as widespread among the "revisionists", there are two notable examples. The first is rather straightforward - Fred Leuchter misrepresented himself as an engineer.

The second is more interesting. Germar Rudolf did not manage to receive a doctorate from Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research. Apparently, the reason for not letting him defend his dissertation was political, but whatever it was, the fact is that he has no PhD.

It is well-known that Rudolf used many pseudonyms during his "revisionist" career. While the use of pseudonyms does not matter generally, he used pseudonyms with doctorates, later explaining it thus:
In spring and summer 1992 I was called by several defence lawyers as an expert witness in several trials imposed on Revisionists in Germany (see footnote 103 of the brochure mentioned). In these trials -- as in all trials against Revisionists -- the judges refused to accept any evidence presented by the defence, including all expert witnesses. I had to learn that a chemist (me) was being refused because he was neither a toxicologist nor a historian, an engineer (Leuchter) being refused because he was neither a chemist nor a historian, a historian (Prof. Haverbeck) being refused because he was neither a chemist nor an engineer. My conclusions were that one obviously had to be at the same time an engineer, a chemist, a toxicologist, a historian and a perhaps even an barrister to be accepted as an expert witness at a German court. The legal process being so perverted in Germany, we decided to mock it by inventing a person with all these features, but then we realized that this would be a bit unrealistic, so we split that person into many.
Hardly an excuse for such a fraudulent practice.

Anyway, if you google for "Dr Germar Rudolf" you will get quite lot a of hits. That this misrepresentation of Rudolf's credentials may be deliberate is clear from a recent Cesspit message (emphasis mine):
A institution I will not identify ( due to the fact anti revisionists read this board) is raising money and as part of the effort, they are selling bricks which people can have inscribed with a name or saying.

In honor of the great contributions to Revisionism that Germar Rudolf has provided to truth seekers everywhere, I have decide to buy and dedicate a brick to him.

Besides his name, I also have a few lines available where I can include a short saying.

Does anyone on the board have any ideas to pass along.

Also, would it be appropriate to use the word Dr. in the title.

I am also open to buying a brick for some other revisionist who has moved the cause along, living or dead.
This person obviously knows that Rudolf is not "Dr.", yet considers applying this title to him anyway.

Update: heh, they just can't stop digging.
"To Dr Germar Rudolf,
incarcerated for fighting against
the false dogmas of the new religion"

("called the 'holocau$t")
Update 2: and another one:
As for the Dr. title; it might not be legal to advertise him as a doctor for business, but I feel he very much deserves the title, so why not add the Dr. title. Plus, it might help remove suspicions.

How about:
Dr. Germar Rudolf – for your relentless search for the truth. Thank you!
Update 3: as is usual for the Cesspit, when a posting becomes too embarrassing, it disappears. The first quote is by "vincentferrer", the second - by "kk", the third - by "Sushicotto".

  1. Some of the same old eyewash.

As has been explained many times, an engineer is a generic title and I have carried the title myself when I worked in Broadcasting. (I am actually only a Certified Electronics Technician and my degree is in History not Engineering. I got the CET certificate from a professional society only because Reagan deregulated the FCC and FCC licenses became moot.)

To eliminate some of the confusion with the generic term "engineer," the title of Professional Engineer was created in the last generation or so, which is a professional society certification.

But under state laws one merely needs a contractor's license to build things for clients, such as homes, or execution installations in prisons. Although Leuchter was a consultant, which requires no professional credentials at all, he might have avoided himself some trouble with the State of Massachusets if he had gotten one.

I agree that he should have been more upfront that his degree was in History and not in Engineering, but he did not misrepresent himself as the foremost expect on execution hardware in the United States.

As far as Rudolf, well, imagine if Dr. Nick had been prevented from taking his Ph.D. for political reasons. Does his knowledge thereby just go right out the window?

In any case, Rudolf does have an advanced degree in chemistry, and in some European countries that alone makes one a "Doctor." For example, architect Albert Speer and civil engineer Hans Kammler were both called "Doctors," but neither had Ph.D.s. And Kurt Gerstein, who had studied mining engineering and tropical medicine is sometime referred to as Dr. Gerstein, probably inappropriately for the martyred saint.

Siemens company calls Roberto, "Dr. Muehlenkamp," who is a Juris Doctor not a Ph.D. In the United States you would never call a lawyer, "Doctor."

Plus, when Rudolf established himself in hiding in the United States he owned up to his pseudonyms. If he were a tenured member of faculty that would be unethical indeed. But what can one expect when somebody is in hiding as a Thoughtcriminal for what he has published?

No Hoaxsters have faced similar penalties for lying through their teeth. They just reluctantly fall behind the figleaf of "poetic license" or that their "memoirs" are really just "novels" and continue to sign expensive book deals.

  2. 1) Leuchter agreed his use was improper. IMHO that settles it.

    2) Rudolf does not have PhD, therefore he is not Dr. Period. And he used pseudonyms with phony doctorates. Again, period.

Therefore you compare what Rudi did with what these people allegedly did. But you condemn these people.

Therefore I expect you to condemn Rudolf.

Of course he did, otherwise he would have not only lost his livelihood as an expert consultant on execution hardware, but still be fighting legal battles from Hoaxsters with billion-dollar warchests. In the United States legal disputes can continue for as long as somebody has money to keep paying for lawyers.

And this extends to the public sphere as well because of the lobbying of legislatures who make the law, and executives who enforce it, and the judiciary itself which interprets it.

Leuchter should not have called himself an engineer, as that was misleading. A Curriculum Vitae probably should have been submitted with the Leuchter Report as well, and other Revisionists like Fritz Berg should have been allowed to review it beforehand. Faurisson probably should have signed off on it as well, but that likely would have landed him in jail in France too.

<< 2) Rudolf does not have PhD, therefore he is not Dr. Period. And he used pseudonyms with phony doctorates. Again, period. >>

So what? He was not an academic using false credentials but somebody using pen-names in hiding on account of publishing heretical ideas. When he was no longer expecting a knock on the door in the dead of the night (although still in hiding) he published under his own name.

<< Therefore you compare what Rudi did with what these people allegedly did. But you condemn these people. >>

They are not in hiding for their political or historical views, and they make money on their fiction which they present as historical memoirs. Rudolf does not get rich as a Revisionist publisher and he encourages debate not silences it.

The biggest problem for the Hoaxsters is how to keep Rudolf under wraps if they ever do let him out of prison. Unlike in the U.S., I understand that random shankings are not too common in German prisons.

  4. There is no problem with Leuchter's usage of the title "engineer" in the USA. In the USA everybody is allowed to use this title.
In Canada this is not the case. In Canada you need a special education and examination.
Important is: Leuchter was an important and accepted specialist for extermination techniques in the USA - until he wrote the expert report about Auschwitz. After that he did not get any job.

  5. If Dr. Neander wants to get in touch with me, I wrote a few pages on "Hans Kammler" that he might find interesting.

  6. What is the point in a post like this? He never finished his doctorate, yes. But isn't that precisely because his own institution wouldn't let him complete it due to his reports?
