Introduction

This is the first of a series of articles discussing Carlo Mattogno’s claims and arguments regarding mass graves at the Ponary mass killing site near Vilnius, Lithuania. It is based on the 153rd of my posts on the forum of the "Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust" that was censored (i.e. "disapproved" or truncated beyond recognition, in both cases on the flimsiest of mendacious pretexts, or deleted after publication) since early July 2017 (the number would be higher if my job had not been such a hustle in the past months, leaving little if any time for pastimes both online and offline). Said censorship is further proof of what is already common knowledge, namely that open debate on the Holocaust is the last thing that said "Committee" is interested in and wishes to provide.

Commendably none other than Friedrich Paul Berg, one of the least commendable exponents of Holocaust denial, expressed his opinion about CODOH censorship with unusual frankness. He gets points for that.

That said, I move on to the first article of this series, which owes much to the gratefully acknowledged, very valuable input of my fellow bloggers Jonathan Harrison, Nick Terry and Sergey Romanov.

After the news that Angela Merkel will receive USHMM's Elie Wiesel award the French denier of the obvious Robert Faurisson couldn't stay silent and had to express his displeasure in an article with the name as long as Pinocchio's nose would be if he were to read any of Faurisson's articles out loud: "Is Angela Merkel Going to Endorse Elie Wiesel’s lies and, Particularly, his lie of the Extermination of the Jews at Auschwitz by Fire and not by Gas?" in which he, predictably, attacks Wiesel as a "false witness":

A Study In Hypocrisy: The "Revisionist" Treatment Of The "Soviet Gas Vans".

In their crusade against anything Nazi gas chamber-related, deniers use the hyper-skeptical approach: witnesses are right out, documents are suspect and probably forgeries, and don't even mention hearsay or "tortured" confessions.

This approach is utterly ahistorical, as has been demonstrated time and again. But the problem is not even that the deniers use approaches that no historian deems sound. It's that they use them only when they want to deny the Nazi mass murder. When they see an atrocity claim that they actually like, all "skepticism" flies out of the window.

Case in point: the deniers' treatment of the Soviet gas vans story.

Lacking sufficient concrete evidence to show the Holocaust did not happen and to build their own narrative, Holocaust deniers are forced to resort to their personal incredulity as a main line of attack: the Germans wouldn't have done it this way. Therefore it didn't happen. It's always fascinating to see with what incredible certainty Holocaust denier think to contradict historical facts established by multiple, corroborating sources by just presenting their poorly substantiated incredulity. A prime example is a claim that the Germans would have used the exhaust of producer gas generators instead of engine exhaust for homicidal gassing.

Berg Bites Cop

In a story published by The Record (New Jersey) on February 17, 1999, it was revealed that
Friedrich Berg, 55, of Linwood Avenue, Fort Lee, the same address Berg stated here, had bitten Sergeant Thomas Dalton during an altercation in which Berg apparently became abusive after being told to put his dog on a leash. Berg "was charged with disorderly conduct, violating the borough's leash ordinance, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault on a police officer." Dalton stated that "I reached over to grab him, and he leaned over and bit my right hand near the web, near the thumb." Why is this story significant? The Far Right frequently portrays African-Americans as instigators of violent crime, such as on numerous RODOH threads. Then there's the irony of Berg biting a man called Thomas Dalton, the same name as the pseudonymous author of this text. Berg's past indiscretion therefore highlights the ironies, double standards and farces that surround HD and White Nationalism in the USA.

In the blog Friedrich Paul Berg yelled for "PHOTOS photos of gassing victims"..., I posted a translation of an excerpt from the Munich Court of Assizes' judgment against members of Einsatzkommando 10a dated 14 July 1972, which describes in harrowing detail the murder in a gas van of handicapped children from an asylum at Jeissk (Eysk), a town by the Sea of Azov 247 km away from Krasnodar, which took place on 9 and 10 October 1942.
  

Radio debate "re-match"

Not that I think it’s very important, but last Friday there was a "re-match", requested by Friedrich Paul Berg, of the debate on Deanna Spingola’s radio show on 22 June 2012 (mentioned in the blogs The usual "Revisionist" victory dancing ... and Friedrich Berg's follow-up questions).

The record of the "re-match" is available here. Not being inclined – unlike Mr. Berg is – to tell our readers what the outcome of the debate was and who presented the better arguments and evidence, I just encourage our readers to listen to the record and draw their own conclusions.

For depraved imbeciles like Muehlenkrap as well as any new Arthur Harris's who might be lurking out there, I suggest they all be tied to stakes and drenched with gasoline with flaming torches nearby. That will be a learning experience for such "heroes." And if seeing the torches doesn't educate them, let them all burn--they earned it.

Berg Posts A Forgery

This forgery was exposed on RODOH back in 2006 here, and was removed from the Cesspit by Jonnie Hargis when it was originally posted there (thread copied by Sergey here.). Nick Terry listed the reasons why it was forged in a post to the Cesspit in April 2010, reproduced here. It therefore beggars belief that Fritz Berg has chosen to revive it here and here. The recycling and spamming seems to have increased across conspiraloon sites from the end of December 2010, such as here and here. We thus have a supposed Guru (Berg) jumping on a nutter bandwagon devoted to an obvious fake. Such is the desperation of Holocaust Denial in 2011.

Wilfried Heink spells it out

In his RODOH post 4332 on the thread New Revisionist Videos, Wilfried Heink, who together with Thomas Kues runs the Inconvenient History blog, spelled out very clearly what he considers the purpose of his "Revisionist" activity to be.
