A Short Update on Steam

Jansson reiterates his position thus:
Thus the early vague and unreliable rumors were replaced by the detailed steam chamber report, whose description of the killing buildings is the foundation of all later accounts.
However, the Critique already addressed this point, noting that "steam is, after all, a gas, and it is not difficult to see how the anonymous source describing steam to Wasser could have deduced that the victims were being killed with steam when witnessing the opening of a gas chamber and mistaken the emanation of exhaust fumes from the chamber for a lethal sauna." It also notes that gas was specified by Milgroim [Milgrom] in a testimony given in Bratislava on 30.8.43. I am therefore entitled to conclude that Jansson is engaging in a "falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus" fallacy that tries to reduce the whole of Treblinka witness accounts in 1942-43 to "steam", and attempts to claim that "steam" invalidates all the other details the witnesses supplied.

Jansson also gaffes in his assumption that we can only be sure that nobody left Treblinka eastwards if there was "a 24/7 watch on Treblinka to make sure that Jews never left the camp." Jansson seems unaware that Polish railway workers were reporting to the underground, despite this fact being noted in the Critique.

Jansson doesn't live in the real world. If Treblinka had been a transit camp, and if the deportees taken there had been moved onwards to the Reichskomissariat Ostland, the Reichskomissariat Ukraine or the Soviet territories under German occupation, this would not only have been noticed by Polish railway workers reporting to the underground. It would also have been noticed by the inhabitants of the Polish communities adjacent to Treblinka, by the camp personnel, by the railway workers and guards in charge of carrying out and escorting those transports, by the railway officials and clerks making the timetables and organizing the transports, by everyone who worked for the German military or civilian administrative entities in charge of receiving, accommodating, feeding and clothing the deportees at the places of arrival, by the civilian population living near those places, and of course by the deportees themselves. There would have been a large pool of witnesses to the "transit" and subsequent accommodation processes, besides the huge paper trail that these processes would have generated (which the Nazis would have had every reason to preserve, as evidence against accusations that they had murdered these people). Some of the deportees would have perished, but most would have survived to return to their homes or to emigrate, and their return to those places or emigration would have left records, as would their subsequent lives at the places they chose to go to and their demanding compensation from the German Federal Republic for the persecution and hardship they had been through. It would be an easy thing to establish the names of at least a substantial part of these deportees, quite apart from the fact that their testimony and that of Germans and locals who got into contact with them, and documents related to the "transit" and subsequent accommodation processes, would have been precious evidence for the defense at every trial in which someone was accused of murdering deportees at extermination camps or partaking in their deportation to such places. Yet there's no such evidence. There is none of the vast amount of documentation that could be reasonably expected to exist if about 1.4 million people had been "transited" through these camps according to the "Revisionist" canon. No witness testifying about what happened at these camps has described them as anything other than places of mass killing. Not a single name of a "transited" deportee has become known in 72 years since the AR camps were closed down. Yet "Revisionists" like Jansson go on rambling against facts inconvenient to their articles of faith. Pathetic.

  2. Just read Jansson latest steam rambling and was bored by it to the point of yawning. Much ado about nothing. Almost made me feel sorry for the poor fellow, and the same goes for the usual abuse that he cannot do without.

    1. There ar several video testimonies, of survivors being "transited" through Treblinka in Steven Spielbergs Shoah Project which give lie to your statement, "Not a single name of a "transited" deportee has become known in 72 years since the AR camps were closed down"

  3. Some Jews who passed through Treblinka may have ended up at Majdanek or some labor camp in the General Government, but my statement (as you will see if you follow the link) refers to Jews "transited" through Treblinka to the occupied Soviet territories as per the "Revisionist" transit camp theory.
So unless any of Spielberg's interviewees was taken from Treblinka to any the areas then known as Reichskommissariat Ostland or Reichskommissariat Ukraine, or to the Soviet territories under German military administration, my statement stands.
