A message from Jürgen Graf

Last Tuesday I received the following e-mail message from "Revisionist" guru Jürgen Graf:

Dear Muehlenkamp,

You recently challenged Mattogno, Kues and myself to debate you on the "holocaust" issue. I accept your challenge, but on my own terms. Since my time is of value, I will not bother to answer a critique with pretends to refute a revisionist book by pointing out a (real or alleged) error on page 98, a second one on page 176 and a third one on page 253. Show that you can do better than that. Do what Faurisson and Mattogno have done with Pressac's study "The crematories of Auschwitz" and write a detailled and comprehensive critique of a revisionist book, discussing all major arguments presented therein. I give you the choice between 4 books:

Graf, Kues, Mattogno: "Sobibor. Holocaust Propaganda and Reality".
Graf, Mattogno: "Concentration Camp Majdanek. A Historical and Technical Study".
Mattogno, Graf: "Treblinka - Extermination Camp or Transit Camp?"
Graf, "The Giant with Feet of Clay".

Upon receiving your text, I will publish it on my website (juergen-graf.vho.org) without any modifications, together with my answer. You will then publish both texts on your own website. (Attention: If you use foul or obscene language, as you have repeatedly done in the past, I will not react at all). I might ask either Kues or Mattogno to help me with some points, especially technical ones. It goes without saying that you may use the help of your three fellow "draggon slayers" if you wish so.

June 22, 1941

On this day 70 years ago, Nazi Germany attacked the Soviet Union and began the most devastating conflict in recorded history, which accounted for the overwhelming majority of World War II deaths in Europe. About 26.6 million of these deaths, according to demographic calculations, occurred among the population of the Soviet Union. A significant part of Soviet deaths was due to the Nazi invaders’ criminal actions.

A Promising New Approach in Holocaust Studies


In the spring of 2011, a new book appeared on the market for Holocaust literature: The Holocaust Object in Polish and Polish-Jewish Culture. It was preceded already in 2010 by its Polish language version, Rzeczy i zagłada.[1] The author is Bożena Shallcross, presented at the University of Chicago’s Web site as “Associate Professor, Department of Slavic Languages & Literatures: Polish Literature & Interdisciplinary Studies; Program in Poetry and Poetics; Committee on Creative Writing; Affiliate, Department of Comparative Literature.”[2]

Kues Lies About Segregation of Sobibor Workers

Kues states:
The Jewish work commando(s) employed in Lager III were likewise kept separated from the rest of the prisoner population and never entered the other Lagers.
However, on page 80 footnote 171 of Sobibór: Holocaust Propaganda and Reality, Kues relies on Engel's testimony that prisoners from Camp III "came sometimes over to our Lager to bring clothes and things like that." Furthermore, the previous page quotes Freiberg's testimony showing how prisoners gained knowledge of extermination from "Prisoners in the forest" who heard "voices of people burying the corpses". Kues is therefore simply making statements against better knowledge (from testimonies he himself has relied upon) regarding the prisoners' access to sensory information. Such information was obviously incomplete regarding detail (how could it be otherwise?) but sufficient to be sure people were being killed.

In my blog Thomas Kues’ takes on the Sonderlager paper dragon, I had pointed out MGK’s partial omission in their Sobibór book of the contents of SS-Untersturmführer Benda’s report dated 17 March 1944, including a passage of the report that is also not mentioned in MGK’s earlier pamphlet Die Akte Sobibór.

MGK's Distortion of a Source in Support of 'Resettlement'

In hopes of establishing an "affirmationist" revisionism, the trio of Mattogno, Graf, and Kues (hereafter MGK) have been proactive in their attempts to describe the 'true' fate of the Jews recognized the world over to have been gassed. While details are still hard to work out in their writings, the trio has fallen back on the idea of resettlement into certain areas of the occupied Soviet territories. One of the more prominent sources that MGK use to support their thinking is the American Jewish Yearbook, which Kues credits as one of the most comprehensive wartime sources regarding Jewish communities around the world.

To use this source for their own ends, MGK are forced to quote-mine their selected passages and ignore numerous other statements. Even in those selected passages, however, they have to distort a true reading of the text.

A Further Deception About the Sobibor Revolt

Page 93 of Sobibór: Holocaust Propaganda and Reality [hereafter 'Sobibor'] claims that some Jews returned voluntarily to the camp after the revolt, and that this disproves extermination. The claim has actually been recycled from this earlier Kues piece even though I had already shown the dishonesty of the claim here. Roberto's citation of the Benda Report has highlighted another reason why the claim is dishonest. The report states:
it was decided that the Wehrmacht should take immediate responsibility for pursuing the fugitives, and the Schutzpolizei for securing the camp from the outside.
How would Jews have returned to the camp given that Schutzpolizei were patrolling it? Furthermore, page 121 of 'Sobibor' accepts that up to 420 Jews were shot after the revolt and may be buried at Sobibor. MGK thus concede that escapees did indeed face the probability of death, so their gullibility regarding Jews returning voluntarily to face such death is all the more insincere.
