Gold Rush in Treblinka

An article that appeared on 7 January 2008 in the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza, also available online, addresses a little-known issue related to the mass murder at Treblinka extermination camp: the participation of non-Jewish Poles in the plunder of the victims’ belongings during the camp’s operation and the search for treasures on the former extermination camp’s area after the camp had been dismantled. The authors of this article, Piotr Głuchowski und Marcin Kowalski, describe these phenomena under the title “Gold Rush in Treblinka”.
